kvoelker asks Hoosgot,

@hoosgot a way to get ball point pen ink out of a soft leather couch? My 3 years old went to town last night.

Ouch! Did you try OxyClean or one of the Oxygenated wash products? I’ve seen them work wonders…

Benzene applied with a paper towel might do the trick.

Test it on a hidden portion of the sofa first. Put some of the same ink on, and see if it takes it off. Let it dry, and you’ll see if any discoloration happens.

Benzene dissolves oil, but is otherwise inert. You’ll need to mop the dissolved ink off with fresh paper towels. If you don’t, the ink will just resettle once the benzene evaporates.

Please don’t take my word for this. I’m very very very vaguely recalling high-school physics. The thing to do is ensure that you test on a hidden bit. Then any discoloration won’t make a difference.

    Blue skies, love, Roy
